Lewis Kelly, Ph.D., wears two hats. His day job is associate director for administration at the Markey Cancer Center. By nights, weekends, holidays and vacations he is president of his own company, ERTIAUnlimited. Ertia is the opposite of inertia. Through this company Lew provides seminars and consulting services.

Donna Ison, a museum theater playwright and novelist and actress, spoke to us about the dharma of self-employment and small business. Dharma is a Sanskrit word. According to Donna, dharma has three points: Finding or fulfilling your individual purpose in life and using your unique talents for that purpose (usually through work), bringing joy to others through it, and bringing joy to yourself through it. “It’s something everyone should do but they don’t,” she said.
